Both in the classroom and around different parts of the school, we've been looking for and making different shapes and patterns. It's quite amazing at how many different shapes there are around us! Take a look at what the children found.

In Nursery, the children have taken a look at the beliefs of Jewish people and exploring the religion of Judaism. Through this they've been finding out the similarities and differences between being a Christian and being a Jew. Take a look at the finished display and some of the activities that lead towards it. Take a look at what we've been doing for our 'Welcome' topic in R.E. We've been exploring the different ways that people welcome each other After this we looked into how the Church welcomes new life through Baptism. A big thank you to all the families who shared with Nursery their own experiences of Baptism, through letting us look at precious things such as photographs, Baptism clothing and Baptism Candles. Some children role-played Baptism themselves. On our Autumn walk, we aimed to investigate what effect the Autumn has on the plants and trees around us. We collected lots of different coloured leaves and seeds to use in class to produce Autumn collages. After returning back to school, the children investigated the leaves more by taking a closer look at their appearance. We've been exploring how we are all unique individuals, with different names and different faces. Yet we are all part of God's huge family.
Children have painted their own portrait and decorated their own unique name. They've also made their own candle which shows that God's loves every one of us and knows us all by our own name. A big thank you must go out to all of you who have kindly brought in some tins of food. We've been celebrating our Harvest Festival Mass and offered all the food to those in desperate need of something to eat. THANK YOU! Take a look at the different activities the children in F1 have been exploring this half-term. They've been cutting, painting, drawing, practising how to write, making biscuits, investigating autumn leaves, planting bulbs for the spring and lots, lots more. The new academic year has started and lots of busy playing and learning is ready to start in SMC Nursery (F1)! Keep checking this Blog to see what your child has been doing. If you have any questions or queries, the F1 Team are more than happy to help. We all look forward to seeing you soon!
What a lovely time we had at Wheelgate together! How many different rides and activities do you think we visited? The weather was perfect and, as you can see, we all enjoyed the trip. We've been exploring the amazing world we live in that God made for us, starting with a sensory walk around school. The children have been thinking about ways in which we, as God's children, can take care of Our World and treat each other kindly and fairly. Can you spot the spider? |
We will say 'Hi' every so often and tell you what we've been doing!
